The "World's Richest" Tarpon Tournament got off to a congenial start Wednesday morning with the captain’s brunch at the Boca Bay Pass Club. By the end of the day, however, nary a silver king was hooked.

Fishermen, their captains and officials waded into the buffet line before going over the rules of the pass tournament. The beach tournament was cancelled Tuesday evening after chamber officers consulted with everyone signed up and asked them "what do you want to do."

Water conditions that don't favor the beach tournament and the return of some red tide decided the matter.
