By Linda Fudala-Tucker

Last week was "holiday week" for the Munchkin program so Flag Day (June 14) and Father’s Day (June 19) were combined for an all-American luncheon for dads and granddads on Friday. Laquata Meade, director of the program along with volunteers Dee Wheeler and Nancy Lingeman served up hot dogs, baked beans, potato salad and chips with star-spangled cookies for dessert in the Woman's Club room at the Community Center. The summer program has 12 students registered in the pre-school program. |
Her students help create a chart about their dads with some delightful results. Seven questions the youngsters answered on the chart included: Favorite meal Dad makes for you; Describe your Dad; How old is your Dad; Favorite thing to do with your Dad; What is your Dad made of; Favorite place to go with dad; and What gift would you buy Dad for Father’s Day? Shaelyn said her Daddy "looks like a mommy but has dark hair." Parker said he'd buy his Dad a "a big toy, a roller coaster." Hayden’s favorite thing to do with his Dad was to go fishing together |
and he wanted to buy him a fishing net. Anabelle who described her Dad as "he's brown," likes to mow the grass with her Dad and said she'd buy him a "Barbie doll" for Father's Day.When it came to What is your Dad made of? - most answered blood and bones, but Wyatt said "Rice Krispies." The best answer to that question, however, was delivered by Shaelyn who said her Dad was made of Love.

5.45 inches for the first and second quarters this year from the same period of 2004. The water for this report had been monitored from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2004. Capital improvements currently underway or planned, said the report, include relocation of two water mains at Coral |
Creek required for a new bridge and road realignment. A new generator at the water treatment plant was installed and a liquid form of chlorine is now being used instead of a gaseous form of the chemical. The electrical system received a complete upgrade at the wastewater plant. Continued on
